I really liked this one。My son （12） says this wasn't his favorite because the action slows down。 The whole book takes place over a day or two and sets up a final book。I liked the character of Snowfall-- she started the book over-the-top crazy paranoid， and ended up a much more well-rounded dragon through some fun magical means。In this book we run into a lot of the characters from all over the Wings of Fire series， including the （very fun） Dragonslayer stand-alone。 Since it's been a year or so si I really liked this one。My son （12） says this wasn't his favorite because the action slows down。 The whole book takes place over a day or two and sets up a final book。I liked the character of Snowfall-- she started the book over-the-top crazy paranoid， and ended up a much more well-rounded dragon through some fun magical means。In this book we run into a lot of the characters from all over the Wings of Fire series， including the （very fun） Dragonslayer stand-alone。 Since it's been a year or so since I've read them， I'm sure I missed a bit。 Ah well。I'm ready for book 15。 。。。more

Putting the whole series （to date） review here。 I read them all one after the other over the last few weeks。 I'm not going to write a review for each book。 All in all， a great series。 A fun read with a few books that were pretty slow in the beginning when new environments/character groups were introduced。 If you are a parent reading these to make decisions for your child， the series is pretty innocent and is appropriate for late elementary and early middle school in terms of themes。 If you care， Putting the whole series （to date） review here。 I read them all one after the other over the last few weeks。 I'm not going to write a review for each book。 All in all， a great series。 A fun read with a few books that were pretty slow in the beginning when new environments/character groups were introduced。 If you are a parent reading these to make decisions for your child， the series is pretty innocent and is appropriate for late elementary and early middle school in terms of themes。 If you care， no gay characters are introduced until book 13 （or was it 12？）。Having said all of that， book 14 is painful。 The main character is very whiny and SHOUTS a lot for the first 40 - 50% of the book。 This is the first book in the series that I almost abandoned。 This particular book is all over the place as the author tries to tie two lands and two sets of characters together for whatever is coming next。 So， why am I reading this series？ I work in a middle school and the kids love to see me reading what they are reading。 It allows me into their world and provides some great conversation fodder。 。。。more

Favorite book in the entire Wings of Fire series。 It illustrates some very beautiful character development in its own self-contained story about Snowfall while still advancing the plot of the lost continent series。

I managed to read this entire book in one sitting and。。。 I think it was okay。 The premise of the book is Queen Snowfall struggling with the pressures of being Queen at such a young age。 Of course， she gets over this by the end of the book。 In short without any spoilers I think that this book was mostly just filler， It could have been way shorter， but I do like some parts of the book， such as reading about Jerboa。 I found myself skimming quite a bit of this though。But on to my bigger problems。 Sn I managed to read this entire book in one sitting and。。。 I think it was okay。 The premise of the book is Queen Snowfall struggling with the pressures of being Queen at such a young age。 Of course， she gets over this by the end of the book。 In short without any spoilers I think that this book was mostly just filler， It could have been way shorter， but I do like some parts of the book， such as reading about Jerboa。 I found myself skimming quite a bit of this though。But on to my bigger problems。 Snowfall and Lynx （I think？ I forgot the name honestly） go to a SandWing town （I forget which one， Possibility or Hope maybe？） and meet Sky and his rider。 （view spoiler）[ Here they start to focus too much on the humans， and basically make it so that humans are also main characters。 （hide spoiler）] This kinda upsets me， I hope that humans will not become a central theme of the book， as the reason I love Wings of Fire is because of it's perspective from dragons only。 My second biggest problem is that Tui builds up so much character development and then just chucks it out the window。 Snowfall is paranoid about NightWings and insecure， which makes sense， as it is a lot of pressure。 She grows out of this later though。 But it turns out the REASON she grew out of it was because （view spoiler）[ a magical crown was enchanted to make her hate NightWings and she had taken it off。 （hide spoiler）] Reasonable character motivation gone！ Also Snowfall literally smashes （view spoiler）[ decades worth of IceWing culture （hide spoiler）]， the main thing that made IceWings interesting！So yeah， I didn't really find this that good。 。。。more

The Wings of Fire series has been consistently good to great since its inception， making this awful entry all the more disappointing。Previously in the Wings of Fire series， the Pantalan dragons had to flee their entire continent after accidently awakening a dangerous villain that's even more ruthless than Queen Wasp， threatening to overrun all of dragon-kind。But， let's table all of this exciting drama to spend some time in Queen Snowfall's head。 What！ Snowfall， an extremely minor character barel The Wings of Fire series has been consistently good to great since its inception， making this awful entry all the more disappointing。Previously in the Wings of Fire series， the Pantalan dragons had to flee their entire continent after accidently awakening a dangerous villain that's even more ruthless than Queen Wasp， threatening to overrun all of dragon-kind。But， let's table all of this exciting drama to spend some time in Queen Snowfall's head。 What！ Snowfall， an extremely minor character barely worth mentioning before， is suddenly given the full POV treatment。 The Icewings are the first to receive the refugees。 As the new Queen she's annoyingly xenophobic and paranoid， and spends the entire novel learning the obvious lessons from a magic ring that grants her insight into other dragons。In terms of major plot points， there's almost nothing。 This entire book could be summarized in sentence or two。 It's a gigantic waste of time， and derails the otherwise awesome exciting ending from the last book。Hopefully the next book gets back on track， as the series remains a favorite of mine and my 10-year old's。 We agreed that this is easily the worst of the bunch。 。。。more
